Robin Wheatley, MA Director of Administration & Resource Development, Dubai Harvard Foundation for Medical Research
Robin Wheatley joined the Dubai Harvard Foundation for Medical Research in June 2004, having worked previously at the University of Miami, Florida, and The Johns Hopkins University and Medical Institutions, Baltimore, Maryland. His experience in academic fundraising and program development has included matching philanthropists, philanthropic organizations, foreign governments and government agencies with faculty research programs. He has worked extensively in the Middle East, Central and South America, and Europe.
He is responsible for the planning and implementation of the Foundation’s development goals, as well as the short- and long-term operations which includes: working with the Foundation’s generous donors and Founder Members, Board of Trustees, members of staff in Boston and Dubai, Harvard Medical School’s and Harvard University’s administration, and the Harvard and broader international scientific research and academic communities.

Dr. Abdulkareem Sultan Al Olama Executive Manager, Dubai Harvard Foundation for Medical Research
Dr. Al Olama Joined the Dubai Harvard Foundation for Medical Research in February 2007. He also works as a Postgraduate Medical Education Manger at the Harvard Medical School Dubai Center. Before that he was working as a business development manager for Dubai HealthCare City. Before joining Dubai Healthcare City he was teaching assistant in the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences in the United Arab Emirates University. He is currently a member of the Board of directors at the Emirates Medical Association.
He graduated from Faculty of Medicine and health Sciences, UAE University as a physician and now he is pursuing master in healthcare management at the Royal College of Surgeons Ireland.
Dr. Muna Al-Saffar, MBChB, MSc, CCGC Research Project Manager , Dubai Harvard Foundation for Medical Research
Muna Al-Saffar joined the DHFMR team in 2007. She is responsible to identify regional investigators to collaborate with other international researchers, identify potential research fellowship candidates for training & funding, and assist in the development of research policies. Currently, she is based in Dubai and in charge of the Autism Study in the UAE in collaboration with Dr. Walsh’s Laboratory and the Children’s Hospital in Boston.
Muna has more than 25 years of experience in the clinical and research field of immunology & genetics in different countries including Iraq, Kuwait, Canada, and Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. She holds a Medical Degree that enabled her to enhance her knowledge during her training in Montreal. In the year 2000, she attained Masters Degree in Genetic Counselling from McGill University and the Canadian Certification for Genetic Counsellors (CCGC). She enriched her skills through clinical research at McGill University for about 10 years. While she gained her extensive genetic training through the genetic program at Montreal General Hospital, Royal Victoria Hospital & the Children’s Hospital in Montreal. Her publications reflect her interest in immunogenetic research and academic involvement in the field of hereditary cancer genetics.
DHFMR BOSTON OFFICE:
Jasmin Mehovic, MA Program Manager, Dubai Harvard Foundation for Medical Research
Jasmin Mehovic manages local and international operations of the Dubai Harvard Foundation for Medical Research and the day-to-day operations and administrative systems for the Foundation’s Boston office. He also administers Foundation's grants and fellowships programs and manages foundation's events planning, including scientific symposia, Science Writer Fellowships program and fundraising events in United States and abroad. Working closely with Foundation and Harvard Medical School (HMS) senior staff and international partners, he helps plan and implement communication and public relations policies, procedures and strategies for the Foundation. Jasmin joined the Dubai Harvard Foundation in 2006. He also worked as the Program Coordinator for the Giovanni Armenise-Harvard Foundation for Medical Research in 2006-2007.
Prior to joining Dubai Harvard Foundation, Jasmin has worked at the Harvard Institute for English Language Programs, Cambridge, Massachusetts, and Georgetown College, Washington, DC. He holds a Master’s degree in Communication, Culture and Technology from Georgetown University.
