MATERNAL, WOMEN’S AND CHILD HEALTH WORKSHOP: Closing the Care Delivery Gap

In recent years the GCC region has seen significant improvement in maternal, child and women’s healthcare provision and outcomes. In part this progress relates to a commitment to meeting the World Health Organization’s Millennium Development Goals. However, there still remain health challenges that put women and children at risk of non-communicable diseases such as cancer, diabetes and heart disease. Additional surrounding, for example, childhood obesity, or maternal post-operative care, pose additional challenges that can be managed through awareness and prevention.
