As part of the Request For Applications process, candidates will be invited to attend a conference at Harvard Medical School in May, 2007. The conference, Partners in Research, will bring together Harvard Medical School researchers, heads of Harvard Medical School research laboratories, members of their teams, and a representative from each of the five (5) candidate partner research sites operating in the Middle East and Gulf Region, and five (5) individual Fellowship Award candidate researchers from the Region, who are working in the Region or considering returning to work in the Region.

DHFMR Scientific Advisory Committee Members, HMS Researchers and faculty, senior researchers and administrators from potential Foundation-funded partner research sites and partners and potential Fellowship Award recipients

| Purpose: |
The conference is preliminary to establishing Foundation-funded collaborative Research Centers, which will be partnerships between HMS research sites and partner research sites in the Gulf and Middle East Region. The conference will also help identify final research partner Candidates and final research award recipients
Conference participants will be given the opportunity to present an overview of their current research
