The Scientific Advisory Committee (SAC) consists of senior faculty from Harvard Medical School science and clinical departments and representatives from the Gulf Region’s medical and scientific community. These Committee members are responsible for designing and monitoring the success of scientific and clinical programs relating to the Dubai Harvard Foundation for Medical Research and its mission. The Regional Advisory Committee has a rotating membership of internationally renowned scientists from the Gulf Region and is responsible for providing strategic input into the grants programs and supporting the review process. The Grant Review

MATERNAL, WOMEN’S AND CHILD HEALTH WORKSHOP: Closing the Care Delivery Gap

In recent years the GCC region has seen significant improvement in maternal, child and women’s healthcare provision and outcomes. In part this progress relates to a commitment to meeting the World Health Organization’s Millennium Development Goals. However, there still remain health challenges that put women and children at risk of non-communicable diseases such as cancer, diabetes and heart disease. Additional surrounding, for example, childhood obesity, or maternal post-operative care, pose additional challenges that can be managed through awareness and prevention. This day-long workshop is designed for physicians and clinicians, healthcare policy makers, and members of the academic community focused clinical care delivery, family and community health, and health policy. Attendees will hear expert presentations and participate in discussions. (REGISTRATION CLOSED)
